To be eligible for a Livingston Parish Public School Pre-K program for the 2024-2025 school year, a child must be 4 years old on or before September 30, 2024, live within the attendance boundary of the school, and meet the income requirements. The 2024-2025 application portal will open on February 1, 2024.
Applications for the 2024-2025 school year will ONLY be submitted online through our new application system: www.applytolppsearlychildhood.com. This website will not be live until Round 1 opens on February 1, 2024.
Documents needed to apply for Pre-K:
Documents will be uploaded to the online application. (TIP: For faster processing of your application, please completely fill in all fields in the application - even if it is not required - and attach all necessary documents.)

Child’s original birth certificate

Child’s social security card
-
Child’s current immunization record
-
4 proofs of residence in the school district (in the name of the legal guardian), such as:

Current utility bill (Property-based bills such as electricity, gas, water, sewer, cable, garbage)

Current lease or mortgage statement
-
Louisiana driver’s license
-
If the parent and child live with a family member or friend, that person is to provide verification with a residency affidavit (gotten from the school) in addition to the above items

Proof of Income, only one of the following is required for every adult in the household (18 years or older):

Most recent two consecutive check stubs for each parent or caregiver in the household (recommended) If you do not receive payroll checks, you must submit one of the documents listed below.

An official letter dated and signed by the employer stating all of the following:

where parent/guardian is employed

hourly rate of pay
-
average number of hours parent/guardian works per week

SNAP/Food Stamps – letter from the Cafe' portal that must include the child’s name and valid effective dates

A statement from the Social Security Administration verifying that the child is a named recipient of Social Security benefits (If parents receive SSI, they must submit an official statement from the Social Security Administration stating their monthly earnings and will also need to submit 2 current consecutive check stubs if available.)

Current foster care placement agreement from Dept. of Children and Family Services (DCFS)

A Statement of No Income form (usually submitted for stay-at-home parents)- copy available online and available at the schools

A Declaration of Irregular Income form (usually submitted for parents who work intermittently or receive cash payments) - copy available online and available at the schools

Federal tax forms are no longer accepted as proof of income.
